I’ve been homeschooling long enough now, that I am pretty confident when I prepare the curriculum for the school year. However, I still have times that I find myself questioning a curriculum.
For the most part, I believe that
There are a couple of reasons why I have had such a hard time switching and one of those reasons is because of Autism. It was a struggle to get him to understand math and get used to one curriculum, that it could be a HUGE step backwards if I try and to change the style.
However, we finally reached a breaking point. And we finally decided to go ahead and give it a try. It’s been a few weeks and there is already a difference. There are still some struggles, but I believe the style is working better. We were using BJUPress Algebra 1 and we finally made the switch to Math U See.
I’ve had my eye on this curriculum since my son was in elementary school, but I wanted to push him where he was and not give up, but I do think the change will drastically help. BJU can be a little more advanced than some others. I really like their curriculum, but I just don’t think it’s working best for him.
We will see, It’s only been a few weeks into the second semester, but there are promising signs. I’ll let you know as we finish off the school year if we continue to stay with the Math-U-See program.
And if you are wondering, MathUsee provides DVDs and online instruction for their curriculum.
